Delivery of your order

To ensure a seamless delivery experience, please take responsibility for verifying that the necessary conditions are in place for successful delivery. Adequate and unobstructed access is crucial for a trouble-free delivery process. In the event that delivery cannot proceed due to factors such as parked cars blocking entry, unavailability to accept delivery, or unsafe conditions for leaving the delivery, re-delivery charges will be applicable.

Re-delivery charges are determined by the pallet company and can be relatively expensive. Typically, these charges include the original delivery fee along with a 4% fuel surcharge. To provide clarity, we have outlined an example of potential re-delivery charges below.

It is highly recommended that you plan to be available throughout the day to avoid any inconvenience associated with re-delivery charges. Your cooperation in ensuring a smooth delivery process is greatly appreciated.

Example of Re-Delivery Charges:

  • Original Delivery Fee
  • 4% Fuel Surcharge

Your understanding and proactive cooperation in facilitating a successful delivery are essential to avoid additional charges and ensure a hassle-free experience. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the delivery process, please feel free to reach out to our team for assistance.

Standard Roadside Delivery

To streamline our delivery process and offer you the best prices, all our listed prices include standard Roadside delivery. Standard Roadside delivery entails placing the items on the road next to the kerb or at the bottom of a driveway, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon in advance. Please note that this method does not involve an advance call.

It’s important to bear in mind that all provided delivery days are given in good faith, and we appreciate your understanding in this regard. We strive to ensure the efficiency of our deliveries and offer these tips to further facilitate a smooth experience.

Kindly be aware that with our standard delivery service, we can provide you with the day of delivery but not a specific time. This is a standard practice that helps us maintain cost-effectiveness and offer you the most competitive prices.

We value your business and aim to make the delivery process as straightforward as possible. If you have any questions or require additional information, feel free to reach out to our team. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we look forward to serving you with a hassle-free delivery experience.

Third Party Distribution Carriers

Our Standard Delivery Process through Third-Party Pallet Distribution Carriers

Our standard delivery method, executed through third-party pallet distribution carriers, typically involves kerbside delivery. Here’s a breakdown of how this process operates:

  1. Order Collection:
    • Your order is collected and transported to the collecting depot’s premises.
  2. Overnight Transit:
    • It then travels overnight to a central distribution hub.
  3. Local Delivery Hub:
    • From the central hub, it makes its way to your local delivering depot’s premises.
  4. Final Delivery:
    • The last leg involves the delivery to your doorstep on the agreed-upon day.

In essence, your order traverses through a minimum of four different vehicles during this journey. This multistage process ensures the efficient and secure transportation of your items, allowing us to provide a reliable and cost-effective standard delivery service.

The prices advertised on this shop include the cost of delivery to most of mainland U.K. with exception of the following postcodes: AB / DD / IV / KA27 + 28 / PA 20 to 75 / PH / PO 30 to 41. Other postcodes may apply, please call to discuss. We can deliver to these postcodes but an excess charge will be made depending on the size of the order. Please call 0151 922 4711 for a quotation.

Delivery Lead Times

Delivery Information: Ensuring a Smooth Process

Upon receiving full payment, our aim is to deliver yard stock orders within 5 working days, defined as Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays. Most yard stock orders are typically delivered within 3/4 working days from the order date. However, for some items directly sourced from suppliers, delivery may extend up to 10 working days.

Delivery Options:

We provide flexible delivery options at checkout:

  • Standard 3/4 Day Delivery (8.00 am to 5.00 pm): FREE^^
  • Next Day Delivery (8.00 am to 5.00 pm): £30 + VAT (£36 inc VAT)

Please note that all specified delivery times depend on product availability. To guarantee next day delivery, orders must be placed before 10.00 am. It’s important to mention that “Next day” excludes Saturday, and orders placed on a Friday for “Next day” delivery will be scheduled for the following Monday.

Delivery Address and Notes:

You have the flexibility to input a delivery address different from your billing address. If necessary, include specific instructions in the notes section, especially if concerns about accessing the property arise.

Possible Delays and Unforeseen Circumstances:

While 99% of our products adhere to the specified delivery timescales, unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, such as a current market shortage of fuel/drivers, may cause delays. Delivery is conducted using a tail-lift and manual pump truck, offering kerbside drop or the nearest access point on a hard surface.

Given potential challenges like vehicle breakdowns, road closures, hills, slopes, parked cars, and lost pallets, we strongly advise against booking tradesmen until the product physically arrives. Unfortunately, no compensation is granted for delays caused by these reasons.

Offloading and Access:

If your driveway is accessible, the product may be offloaded onto it with your permission. However, this service is between you and the hauler and not part of our company-customer contract as they are a third-party delivery service.

Delivery Day:

If no special arrangement has been made, delivery will occur between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm. If your order is not received by 3.00 pm, feel free to call for an update. While every effort is made to deliver as pre-arranged, neither the courier nor we accept liability for any loss or damage caused by delivery delays. Our delivery network covers mainland U.K.

En Route and Cancellation:

Once your order is en route, any cancellation may result in return haulage charges at your expense. Return haulage charges are usually deducted from your refunded amount. A scheduled delivery day will be booked with you, and your presence is required to accept delivery. Failure to do so may incur a re-delivery charge.

Accessory Items and Check Upon Delivery:

Accessory items, like patio sealers or jointing compounds, will be placed inside or on top of your delivery and well wrapped. Please check these items upon delivery as claims for missing items cannot be entertained once the delivery is signed for as complete.

Breakages and Special Features:

Due to our full pack policy, minor breakages are generally anticipated, and contractors often allow about 10% for cuts. However, for special features/circles, inspect all pieces promptly upon delivery and notify us within 5 working days if any issues arise.

We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery process. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to our team for assistance.

Delivery Drops

Delivery Process and Access Guidelines

Our trusted carrier company, handling deliveries on our behalf, primarily utilizes vehicles equipped with a tail lift and a pallet pump truck—standard delivery protocol. It’s essential to note that deliveries may involve large rigid-sized wagons and, occasionally, articulated wagons of up to 45ft. Customers must ensure suitable access for offloading, and it is their responsibility to provide a level and hard area.

Key Considerations:

  • Suitable access is crucial for large vehicles, and customers should communicate any restrictions hindering the delivery.
  • The delivery area must be hard and level, avoiding hills or slopes.
  • Kerbside drop is the standard delivery method, obliging the carrier to offload goods from the tail lift via a pump truck.
  • While assistance may allow goods to be wheeled closer, our couriers are not insured to enter premises without permission.

Customer Responsibility:

  • Any off-highway access is at the customer’s risk, and damages to property (e.g., driveways, walls, trees) during this process are the customer’s responsibility.
  • The carrier we employ is competent, but it’s crucial to be aware of potential pitfalls.

Access Issues and Buyer Responsibility:

  • Buyers must inform us of any access problems before placing an order to avoid complications.
  • If no one is available to sign for the delivery or if the property is inaccessible, re-delivery charges will apply.

Alternative Delivery Solutions:

  • If vehicular access poses challenges, consider delivering to another address, a solution many of our customers have found practical.
  • Deliveries to customer workplaces or local builders’ merchants have been successful, allowing smaller vehicles to transport the product to the job site.
  • Full mechanical offload options, such as brick grab crane or transportable fork truck, can be arranged at an additional cost upon request.

We aim to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery process, and your cooperation in providing suitable access is essential. Should you have any questions or need clarification, please feel free to reach out to our team.

Breakages

Product Transportation and Breakage Considerations

In an ideal world, life would be flawless. However, reality often deviates from perfection! Our stone is ethically sourced from India, and carefully crafted, and its next encounter with daylight happens when you unpack it. During its journey, it traverses from the quarry to the docks, is containerized, braves the high seas for six weeks, and is eventually unloaded in the UK. It then makes its way to us, you make a purchase, and we coordinate transport to your location. Throughout this extensive process, the occasional breakage may occur. Unfortunately, replacement is not feasible as the transit poses a risk of further breakage. To account for this, we advise allowing a 10% margin for breakages, chips, and corners due to the nature of the product. Refunds are not offered for breakages during transit, as these pieces can still be utilized for off-cuts. We’re more than willing to replace broken items, provided you cover the courier charges or collect them from our yard. It’s essential to bear in mind that most broken flags can serve as cuts, and, like many manufacturers and suppliers, we recommend allowing at least 10% for cuts and breakages. This precautionary measure accounts for variations in preferences. Consequently, refunds or replacements are only considered in exceptional circumstances. We diligently check for significant damage, defined as exceeding 10%, and encourage customers to notify us promptly for resolution. If you’re ordering items close to your specific requirements, let us know, and we’ll gladly offer ideas and suggestions. We appreciate your understanding of our transparency and hope for reciprocal reasonableness. While almost all flags may incur minor scuff or rub marks in transit, these are typically negligible and tend to fade shortly after laying.

Damage on Delivery

Procedures for Handling Damaged Deliveries

In the event of any issues with your delivery, especially if damage is apparent or suspected, we kindly request that you sign the delivery note as “Damaged on Delivery.” This step is crucial for ensuring a successful insurance claim and, ultimately, enabling us to replace any damaged goods on your behalf. If you choose not to sign as “Damaged on Delivery,” we may encounter challenges in processing a claim and providing replacements. Alternatively, you may opt to sign as “unchecked.” It’s important to note that refunds for breakages during transit are not offered, as these items can still be utilized for off-cuts. Your cooperation in promptly ad

Re-Delivery Charges

We have just had to re-deliver 3 pallets of stone because the customer had “nipped out for 5 minutes” and we couldn’t contact them by phone. Cost for re-delivery the following day was £156 – please stay in until your delivery arrives. Please make sure you are available to accept delivery. **If the delivering driver tells you they will come back tomorrow, please ask if there will be re-delivery charges. If he doesn’t know then ask him to find out before he leaves.**

Tips for a smooth delivery

Efficient Delivery Planning Tips

Ensuring a smooth delivery experience involves a bit of forward planning. Consider the placement of your delivery and organize your surroundings accordingly. If parked cars pose a potential challenge, strategically position your own vehicle on the road to reserve space for the delivery. Engage friends or neighbors to lend their parking space if available—an extra measure never hurts. It’s advisable not to step out on your delivery day, as, guaranteed, that will be precisely when your delivery arrives.

For optimal communication, provide honest and thorough delivery advice. If you anticipate any potential issues, please inform us, as we can only act upon the information provided. In the event of uncertainties during office hours (8-5), call us immediately for guidance.

Never decline a delivery on the designated day without prior communication with us. Refusing a delivery may result in re-delivery or return charges. If uncertain, call us promptly, and we’ll provide guidance.

Important Notes:

  • All deliveries require inspection and a signature upon receipt.
  • If you or a designated recipient is unavailable at the delivery address, the courier driver will not leave the goods.
  • A surcharge will be applied, along with an additional fee for re-delivery, charged at the courier rate only. The costs will be reasonable and transparent.
